World War 2

This year is the 70th anniversary of the start of World War 2. As a commeoration of the events Priory School is involving the children in month by month progress as from 1939.

3rd September - World War 2 was declared and Neville Chamberlain broadcast the anouncement on the wireless.

5th October - Poland Falls

15th October - Evacuation of Children

11th November - Home Front and Phoney War

29th November - Sinking of Graf Spee

25th January - Russian Invasion of Finland

1st March - Finland Falls

19th April - Norway Campaign

10th May - Churchill becomes PM, Invasion of Low Countries

24th May - Invasion of France

7th June - Dunkirk

28th June - Channel Isles Occupied

5th July - Fall of France
